What are decorative foils?
Metallic Foils are made from a thin layer of non-reactive metallic sheets that are fused to a clear cellophane. They are transferred on to surfaces using gold size giving you the ability to add wonderful metallic finishes to your walls and furniture.
How they are used?
Foils can be used in a variety of ways to embellish walls, ceilings and furniture. Often people use them in the same way as decoupage or wallpaper but there is so much more to them than that. You can create your own designs. They can be used as a background to other techniques such as stencils or plaster finishes.
I have used them on huge ceilings and walls. There are no seams and no pattern matches. Other times, I've used them for tiny touches of gilt on furniture moldings.
The only limit is your imagination!
